I'm so thankful it's Thursday....last day of the week. At least, that's what it feels like, tomorrow I can sleep in (and hopefully get a bit more done on the fronticepiece, all depends on how much color homework I'll get today). Yesterday was eventful though...I was working on 3D in the afternoon to get my masonite planer project mostly done for today, and Jenny and Zyra were working there too. Well, Jenny had a LOT of angles she had to sand, so she went off to the woodshop. She came back several minutes later holding her hand, and told us almost casually that the power sander had sanded her fingers. The two middle fingers on her left hand were missing half the nail and the very tips of her actual fingers were gone. I helped her bandage them up...and she said they didn't hurt, but I know she'll really be feeling it today. And now we're scared to touch the power sander again, I don't need to use it any more, but Jenny still has lots of sanding to do. It's not a good situation.

Ouch!! That sounds awful!! I cut my thumb pretty deeply on a circular saw in shop in 8th grade. It didn't hurt at all at the time. In fact, I pulled my hand back really fast when I thought I had gotten too close and thought,"whew, that was close!" and then saw blood dripping down my hand! I was lucky though - it wasn't that bad and didn't even need stitches. Though the school nurse scared my mom when she called her and said "Your daughter had a small accident in shop...." without telling her that I was fine! Your friend's injury sounds worse!

Her injury is worse than a cut (I suffered a deep cut on my finger a couple years ago, so I can sympathise with you and her) in that there's a lot more area exposed to the air. Thankfully she did pull back quickly, and she said today that when she got it looked at, they said it would heal fine and she could take the bandage off in a week. But at the moment it's hard for her to work on 3D, and her work load is piling up.....the rest of us are trying to help her with it, but I feel really bad for her.

Lol, if I seriously procrastinated though...I'd be dead, flat out dead.
