I finally broke down under the immense weight of all my unused icons, and got a sponsered account. I blame my icon folder on the computer...I really do. It simply wouldn't leave me alone unless I did something about the situation. And then in the height of the moment I zipped around LJ land and added about seven or eight new friends. To be honest though, it wasn't just a random bid for popularity...everyone I added I have seen on my friends' f-lists (or in a community I'm a part of) and I sort of know them already (even if they have no idea who I am).
