Popcorn crumbling...

I always wondered why the carpet around the computer downstairs gets crumby looking so quickly...until tonight. I don't like getting kernels of popcorn stuck in my teeth, so when I eat it, I normally just spit them out indesciminately. It is a disgusting habit, one of my few, and I just now realised most of the crap on the floor are bits of popcorn kernels. I am feeling just a wee bit silly....and am trying to refrain from besmearching the floor in the future.

Last night I had an epiphany, and realised why crumbs are called crumbs...things that crumble into bits with no definate nature of their own are simply derivatives of the crumbling action, and are therefore called crumbs! I was very excited. 

And today I cut out the pieces for a summer dress. I'm making a Vintage Vogue pattern from 1933, not for anything in particular, just to wear. I'm using a really pretty light yellow circularly patterned cotton, and I hope to get it done by my birthday thing this Friday. It just blows me away to think that I now have the time to make a dress in a week. I just can't get over the awesomeness that is summer break.

Yes, well, we only had one week off (spring break) during the entire semester...nothing for Good Friday or Easter or anything! Aside from that it was a solid four months. I don't think we could have lasted any longer! (and there will certainly be pictures of the dress) :-)
