I've been figuring out my schedual for next year, and the fall class schedual is determined to screw me over. I have take at leave one intermediate level painting class next year, and it HAS to be in the fall because I have three studios I have to take in the winter: Advanced Illustration I, Intermad Drawing, and Graphic Design I. In the fall I HAVE to take Intermed Illustration 2, which is only offered at one time, and that time is the exact same as all the intermediate AND advanced painting classes which are all schedualed at the same time. In other words, if I take illustration (my major) then I can't take a single painting class, and I CAN'T go a whole year without painting...that would be way too long. I talked with Jill, and I have to talk with Ed, but it seems like I can possibly do intermed illustration 2 as an independent study which would let me be able to take painting as well. But I love my illustration class more than any other, and it seems like the best solution will involve me only being 'present' in that class for critiques. This sucks. This really sucks.

Boo.

Hiss.

I personally believe that college schedules are made to make sure that you are in college longer than you need or want to be. I have the same problem with language. According to my major, I need four semisters of it. But we offer crappy languages that I don't want to take, and it's only this fall that offers german one. However, it would interfer with a science class i need..

there is a pattern. it's a conspiracy!

*hug* I hope you are able to work it out!

It's like they don't stop to think what the requirement are for the students, and just schedual the classes according to what the profs want as oppossed to what the students need. It's a conspiracy indeed...

my heart breaks for you in your scheduling crisis... on a (slight) upside tho- if you did wind up in painting, we would have to together, and could have such fun with cabages and swans and maybe even coffee cake!

Cabbages and swans are of yesteryear.....I hope that intermed painting will cover a whole new vista of artistic experience. In short, less still-lifeage!!!!! But coffee cake does sound good.
