Corset Goodness

My regency corset is now half boned!!! Last night was the only night of the week I'll be able to sew, so I took full advantage of it and after some homework I fit it properly (I had to trim about three inches off the bottom so it wouldn't cut into my legs) and sewed most of the boning channels and busk pocket thing. I wish I could finish it this week, but tonight I'm going to see Lynette's Greek trip movie at Celebration Cinema, and tomorrow I promised my Mom I'd go do a flower boquet arranging class thing (so we can make them for Rebekah's wedding when the time comes) and Thursday I have work and after that the Graphic Design vs. Illustration bowling match and Friday I'm getting together with a couple friends to watch the first season of Lost, and on Saturday I work from 9-3 and am going to see Serenity with my brother. Once I factor in homework..........*dies* I'm thinking perhaps I shouldn't try to do so much. I'm getting my homework done, but I have this nagging feeling that if I applied my self a bit more I could do so much better. I hate that feeling...when my stuff is pretty good, but it's not as good as I can do. Makes me feel very inadequate. But I have resolved to devote more time to school stuff, I'm sick of not being my best! Grrr, perfectionism is kicking in...I want to be the best!

YEAH!!!! Um, ya know how wierd it is that we're on opposite sides of the table in the lab and yet we're on LJ and whatnot and you could have said that to me instead of commenting.....makes me smile. :-p

i do this with my roommates alllll the time...one will be across the hall and we'll have our doors open and instead I choose to IM them rather than just talk.

Oh man I'm totally with you on the perfectionsim thing. I realized I need to go to grad school so that means I have to keep my GPA up...yikes... Also, costume design class makes me so competitive! We present all our designs in front of each other (including the grad students in front of the undergrads) so if your stuff is crap everybody knows it. Pressure!

Anyway, I totally know how you feel.

Exactly!!! And if your stuff isn't the best, even if it isn't terrible, you still feel aweful! Critiques are what keeps life interesting. Bleh. And ditto on grad school...the GPA stress is not helped by the often randomness that is art grades. Art and design is all subjective! Hopefully grad schools will know that...
