I remember chopping off that much hair (I had it even shorter than that in the end) and having dreams of being able to reeattach it. Never again will I cut my hair. Ever. Not even for charity (well, I can't do it for charity anyway because I color my hair). Its just now getting back to a tollerable length (it reaches my bra strap. I'm aiming for my waist).
Trauma indeed!!!! I scrunched my eyes up when she lopped it off...I couldn't watch. And all day I was walking around shaking my head to feel my hair and reaching up to it.....it's just so strange!!! I think I like it right now, but I'm hoping I won't wake up in the middle of the night crying about my hair. I like the novelty of it...but I think I'll let it get long again.
I would have rather had my hair cut to the length you have it at, personally. I think it was so traumatic for me because I really had it chopped short... The back was layered entirely to my crown, the shortest pieces being 3" long. I don't remember crying about it, but I do remember being really upset. I bitched and moaned about it on LJ quite a bit! LOL.
I figure everyone who has long hair has to experience getting it cut at some point in their lives, just to remind themselves of why the never want short hair, if nothing else. For me the worst part was the styling. I thought I'd be making it easier for myself, but instead I ended up having to spend a lot of time and money fixing my hair every morning. Before that I could just put it into a bun and forget about it. Long hair is way easier to care for. Lesson learned. ;)
Thanks! My mom thinks I was mental to cut it and when I got home she said to me, "but I thought you were going to have it cut prettier than that!" Didn't do much for my nerves!
Aw, I think it's cute! ...Did I mention that I just chopped mine a week ago...?
Anyway, I think it looks really nice with the shape of your face and all, and like Maggie said: it's hair, it'll grow back. And I've observed that if people are able to get their hair as long and have it look as healthy as yours did at that length, then it usually grows pretty fast anyway. :) But yeah, I like it.
I love the new look!! Kind of makes me want to chop off my hair too... But I doubt I will. Hm...I love new looks, though. You look SO CUTE. What did you do with the left over hair?
I sent it off to Locks of Love. And I think Sarah is right...everyone with long hair will chop it off at some point, if for no other reason at least to know what it's like.
