Sep. 9th, 2006 11:56 pmThey were sitting around the kitchen table when I got home from work tonight; my dad, mom, and youngest brother, all playing a board game. Wanting to make conversation while preparing a baked potato, I asked who was winning.
My dad replied, "Benjamin just took the lead, but I'm shagging him."
I made an odd choking sound, and trying very hard not to burst into wild laughter, I said "I really don't think that's the word you meant to use."
My dad shrugged, obviously oblivious as to what I meant, and said that he was hounding him.
I'm still laughing inside...it's quite amusing to think that my strongly anti-gay, fundamental Christian father inadvertantly said he was committing incest with his underage son.
And monotypes RULE! I can't wait to try all sorts of new techniques on Tue. I did several additive and subtractive prints, and I think I'm in love...the printshop even smells wonderful. Each time I take a new print off the press it's like a wonderful little present. Hopefully I'll like all the other type of printmaking as much as I adore monotypes. *smiles dreamily*
