Today's grand adventure consisted of my mother and I clearing out the cupboard under the stairs. For years its great deep shelves have been piled with board games, puzzles, old school books and homework, floppy disks, cables, broken models, Rebekah's old stuff etc. We almost never use anything from the cupboard, and as I badly need a place to store all my art for junior review (and my mom is running out of room for her fabric), we figured it was as good a time as any to go through it and organize. We ended up throwing away three garbage bags FULL of junk. We mostly binned old homework but still...... the shelves are almost all empty now. It was however, very dusty and cobwebby work, and since it was in the basement, it was musty and chilly as well as dusty and cobwebby. It was very satisfying throwing things away though (yes, Jenny, gasp in horror) and I'm glad we did it. At least my figure painting stuff is off the floor now!

And I now have exactly two weeks before I go to Bristol the first time (going twice this summer, I win!). For the first time ever it seems as though I'll have my sewing done ahead of schedule for an event! I have my corset, corded petticoat, added guards to my skirt, and have my doublet muslined and all cut out. So all I have to do is sew the doublet (which shouldn't take too long as the trim isn't dreadfully complicated) and make a hat. I've got plenty of time! (and I swear, I won't have to eat those words)
