everlasting days and hems
Jul. 27th, 2005 09:40 pmA couple things have managed to pull me out of my slump, firstly, the encouragement from rvqavalon and
k_lantis (thanks so much), secondly, my parents said they'd spend $100 on clothes for the fall for me (my Mom and I were at the mall today, fulfilling that promise. I love shopping when I don't have to pay!) and finally...well, I decided to make a spur of the moment Harry Potter costume. I don't want anything complicated...just a quickish easy gratifying project. I'm making the tracksuit the Hogwarts champions wear for the maze ( piccy under the cut )
In other news I've spent much of my time yesterday and today hemming. Have I ever said how much I HATE hemming?! And with both skirts for the Elizabethan, it seems like I have an unending amount of skirt to hem. As it is I've nearly finished hemming the underskirt. *dies* I have never ever ever done so much handsewing in my life!!! It seems that I've done more handwork than machine work with this project.
Oh, and I've started drawing again. I had done one or too little sketchy things earlier this summer, but until about a week ago I hadn't done any art as is art. It's taken me this long to recover from review! But my sketchbook is rapidly filling again, and now I want to draw/paint every day. I was wondering when (or if) that urge would come back. It's just further proof that I'm more than ready for school to start again.
