Feb. 17th, 2005 06:14 pmIn Color today we were working on our color-aid (horribly expensive little pieces of silkscreened paper) collages, and my professor came and stood over my shoulder for a few minutes, not saying anything, just looking at my work with a little smile. I couldn't bear not knowing what she was thinking, so I asked her if it was any good. She said it was really great, and would I like to be in her textiles class next year because she thought I'd be very good at it. I was thrilled, I'd wanted to be in that class, and to be asked by the teacher to be in it was incredibly cool. But that's not all, when I said I'd love to (be in the textile class) and that fabric and I get along quite well, she said she thought so; my collage made her think of fabric! I mean, how funny is that! I obviously have been thinking about the silk I'll be ordering this weekend waaaay too much this week! But then, how can a paper collage make one think of fabric? Anyway, I was muchly amused.
