I need help!

I have to buy a domain and get web hosting for my portfolio site (I've been making a new one with iWeb that I'll be able to update regularly since I no longer have constant access to Dreamweaver the way I used to when I was in school).  I need something where I can upload with FTP and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  I was looking at GoDaddy and I liked the plans they offer, but it seemed from their site that they are only compatible with Linux and Windows... am I blind, or are they also Mac compatible?

Also looked at Warped (I HATED their website, there was an astonishing dearth of useful information) and drak.net... are there any other cheap-ish hosts any of you would recommend?

I've really liked my new host - EhostOne.com They have great $1 and $2 a month plans, and they were very helpful when I had some snags moving my site. Works fine with my mac.

I am having a very good experience with Dreamhost. My mac-wielding friend also hosts with them and didn't have any problems that I was aware of (neither of us are doing anything majorly complex but so long as you know what external programs you can mac-use along the way I think you'll be fine). I register my domains with joker.com, but I believe the other guy registered the domain name with Dreamhost and that was all fine and good. They have lots of features and lots of space and allow me to make subdomains willy nilly and set up FTP users because I host other people (theoretically >.>...) etc. They also have nice webFTP that I can access on the go for stuff. I'm reasonably computer-capable but not a tech-whiz by any means and so far their site has been very user-friendly for me and everything seems pretty quick.
