Pre-Spring Break Plans

Calling Spring Break spring break is silly. It's not spring. It's hardly even close to spring. It's next week, and there's almost always snow or some other ghastly precipitation during that week. The first couple weeks of March are just so ICK. But it is a break nonetheless, and I have many ambitious plans that hopefully will be resolved if I don't just flop and watch movies.

~ I will make my brother's (Joseph) birthday present. (A banner of some sort)
~ I will get my hair cut...again
~ I will finish my painting smock which is on the wayside right now
~ I will finish the dress for my painting which I know won't be done by this weekend
~ I will learn how to pronouce (and say quickly) Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, which is indeed a real word for all you doubters, it's a village in Wales. My uncle can say it, and I soon will too!
~ And maybe, MAYBE, hopefully, I will get my Violet dress out again and work some more on it

And if my doll isn't done by the end of this week I will be very surprised indeed. And oh! I love it so!

Ah, those crazy Northerners. One of my favorite modern bands, the Super Furry Animals, come from Wales and did an entire cd once in Welsh.

Wierd Welsh Names....

Oh, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is easy to say!!!

Do you know its meaning?? I have the translation somewhere but not on this PC as its Edmund's PC.

And, I can confirm to the doubters that it is a real place name - the village name sign on the train platform is nearly as long AS the platform!!!!! I've been there!!!!

Yeah, it means St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave. Only I don't know know that, I got a translation from a book.

I will not even attempt to pronounce the name but I really wanted to say that I love your icon and what a coincidence, I just finished watching the film 30 minutes ago!
