and so it is winter

Weather bad. Icky. Strong wind. Wet snow and puddles.

Read Archer's Goon first time. Good book.

And life goes on. I made a hat the other day to go with my Elizabethan which I'm wearing for my final painting project for which I'm doing a self-portrait. 3 1/2' x 5'...full costume....I'm really scared I'll get paint on it, but I've managed to aviod mucking up my painting clothes in the past so I think I can do it. And I discovered how much fun it is to swish around Calder in long skirts with a hat perched jauntily upon my head. I'm skipping English and Art History today to finish Life Drawing homework that I was planning on doing early this morning but I slept instead. I decided that when fighting off a cold it would be the height of folly to cut too deeply into sleep...that, and it was POURING with rain when I first woke up at 6. At 8 it was definately time to get up though, and at 10 the rain turned to snow. Which is where this post started.

Now I must go draw.

Yay for Archer's Goon!! I love that book! You should definitely try A Tale of Time City (written for a similar audience, maybe slightly younger) and Firef & Hemlock (written for a slightly older audience..)

I've read those already...I think Archer's Goon was her last one I hadn't read. I could be mistaken, but I THINK I've read all her books now. Now it's time to convert everyone else to Diana Wynne Jones.

i'm excited that it's snowing! over on the east side we don't get snow until around christmas time, so it's a definite good surprise/change for me.

Blech. The first snowfall is normally between the 12th and 18th of Nov. here. It has lost much of its novelty for me. But it is SO pretty....

the snow makes me want to sing-
rain drops on roses and wiskers on kittens, something something something and warn wollen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string....
