I fell deeply in love with Bristol after the first fifteen minutes. One day really wasn't enough time there...I'd need more like a whole week to see everything. And it was so huge! I guess I wasn't quite prepared for the sheer size of it! I mean, it was every bit as large as my own hometown! But I truely lost my heart to the bookshop. The moment I stepped inside I just gazed around in lustful awe...and then wandered around the shelves stroking the books I've wanted for so long. As it is, the bookstore was the only shop I bought anything at. I got Patterns of Fashion 2 (1860-1940) and Jean Hunnisett's 1500-1800 book...and since those two alone came to $99 together, I stopped there and didn't buy anything else but food the rest of the day. But it was SO hard to walk away from all the other books I want! I must start saving now for next year...I don't like buying books online ya see. I like to feel the paper and flip through them before deciding that it shall be mine. And as for my sister, who not a month ago said that she didn't want to go at all and only changed her mind at the last minute (I think because I was so desolate at the idea of not going at all) SHE can't wait to go back! Ha! I think it was the boots and swashbuckling hats and gloves that really did her in. As it was, she promptly bought a hat with sweeping feathers and some black leather bracers and wore them with her costume the rest of the day. And I must say, they really did round her outfit off. Unfortunatly, I didn't get as mant pictures as I would have liked because Rebekah carried the camara around most of the time, and she never took any pictures unless prompted and she never zoomed in. I'll get them in a photobucket album soon though, as I did manage to get several decent pictures of the court and of Rebekah herself (and one of Christophe the Insulter by whom we were muchly amused)

But now I have to think about the future. I only have two weeks until school starts again (yay) but that's not much time to get serious sewing done. And I simply must make a jacket first. It's one of my own design...it's dark pinkish plaid and doublebreasted and it has tailcoats I'm lining in a flowered calico. Yeah, if it turns out how I imagine it then I'll post pictures. And  I also have to make my regency stays and a bonnet. That will probably take the two weeks I'm thinking. But I still want to have my Violet dress before Christmas, which means starting it during the school year, which is something I didn't do at all last year. But I can't even buy fabric for that until two weeks from now, because I've promised myself I won't spend more than ten dollars until I've deposited two paychecks. The summer really sapped my bank account, and I have to repair the damage before spending any more money.
