Pictures 'cause it DID happen!
Sep. 12th, 2009 02:47 amI am finally posting again after swearing to myself that I wouldn't write anything on livejournal until I could honestly say that I had finished making the jacket for my brother.
This morning I finished pounding in the last snap and got it in the mail before leaving for work.
After dragging my feet for week after agonizing week in which I felt like I couldn't work on any other project until this one was done and I found excuse after excuse to do anything BUT sew on the jacket, I finally finished it in all its black denim glory. And you know what? After complaining to everyone with an ear and dragging my feet over this project, I don't hate it. I don't even dislike it! I just wish I'd gotten my act together and finished it ages ago. It looks a little ridiculous on my (female) dressform, but seeing as how he lives several hours away I didn't have much choice. Still, proof!

And check out the back!

So now I can get back to more normal things, like re-painting my room, sewing late birthday presents, finishing a regency day dress, watching True Blood, properly trimming my 1863 ball-gown, and getting letters of recommendation and writing statements for grad school apps. Oh, and hopefully breathing some life into my mother's wardrobe... though I need my sister's help on THAT particular endeavor!
