Lifestock: email and eating...
Sep. 13th, 2008 10:31 amI spent nearly three hours yesterday switching over all my accounts and contacts from Excite to Gmail. I had resisted getting a gmail account for quite a while, but my old email account never was incredibly user-friendly, and then a couple of weeks ago, the user interface for Excite completely changed. No warning, just a sudden switch to the least intuitive, slowest, most agrivating interface possible. All of a sudden, emails were randomly just not showing up in my inbox (or junk folder). Things reached a head when multiple emails from my Capstone prof never got through to me, and I made the move to gmail. I now wish I had done it sooner.
In other news, the benefit show I am involved in is now up! The show is entitled 'Livestock LIFE STOCK' and is a silent auction of donated art (by current GVSU students and alumni), the procedes of which will be given to the charity World Vision. Since our major concern was to raise funds for the cause, all of the art was kept fairly small and starts quite cheaply at $15-$20. Hopefully the whole thing will be a success financially, and it feels wonderful to actually be doing something, even such a small something, to help relieve poverty instead of just talking about how awful the situation is.
I'm actually quite hungry right now... I think I'll go make some macaroni and cheese. From scratch. It's just better that way. :-p
And then? Well, I have to finish the MOG dress, finish the Queen's kirtle, finish my 18th cen cap, read for capstone, do my archaeology homework, dye petticoat fabric, and get a couple new pieces done for portfolio. Before Monday. I think it's possible... only not on an empty stomach.
