Fabric for Sale!
Jan. 8th, 2008 10:04 amDoes anyone want/need six yards of pretty russet rusty red-ish silk taffeta? It's almost a shot silk, with one way of threads being mostly yellow, and the other way (I don't know which is warp and weft) red-ish.

It's been through the wringer, metaphorically speaking, so it's not a particularly crisp taffeta. I really like this color and think it's quite pretty, but I never ever wear it, and would rather not have to totally re-imagine my design. There is a very long story behind why this silk is sort of red instead of blue, the end of which can be found on
rvqavalon's journal. However, I can't afford to buy myself blue silk (at this point I don't even care if it's the "right" blue or not) unless I can manage to sell this, and I'd like to avoid eBay if I possibly can.
And I want to give a HUGE thank you to
bauhausfrau (aka, Loren) who gave me the most beautiful striped silk for Christmas! It's simply STUNNING fabric, and from the instant I saw it it just screamed "Victorian" at me. I couldn't use it for my 1820 dress when it so plainly was demanding to become something else. That's when I made a deal with KatieJacobs (I do a painting for her in exchange for fabric), and my adventures in dying began...
