Nov. 21st, 2006 06:06 pmEven though break is only five days long (including the weekend) I feel extremely liberated right now in spite of the fact that I have a whole great list of things I've planned to do over said break. On the tippy top of the list is making a winter coat...I've schedualed it all out by days and I should be able to have it completely done my Sunday evening. And I have to write a paper, and put the finishing touches on Snooty Tooty Maria and make the sculpey pieces for the Death doll and start a woodcut. If I don't get up too late in the mornings it can totally happen.
Today was just a little bit crazy. I still had to finish my metals project, so I skipped acting in the morning to do printmaking work so that I could then skip printmaking so that Bev would be able to help/advise me. But now my container is DONE! It gives me such an incredible peace of mind to not have to worry about it any more. My final metals project is going to be really sweet though. We have to do a mixed media piece...at least 40% of the finished thing has to not be metal. My inspiration is greatly drawn from the headpiece of Padmé's Peacock gown from Episode III. I've been doing sketches and planning out what I'm going to take from the original image, and what I want to change for myself. It's times like this that I am filled with gratitude for Padawan's Guide. Seriously Maggie, I dunno what we'd do without you. Oh, and I'm in the middle of a pretty detailed sketch of the design on the top part of the headdress, if you're interested I'll email it to you when I'm done.
And quite randomly, I've lately been filled with a deep desire to remake my Padmé Packing gown...it wants to be perfect.
