Jul. 16th, 2006 12:31 am*gusty sigh* This whole headwear thing isn't going smoothly this week. I redid the pleats on my hat three times before finally stitching the crown to the brim, trying it on, and realising there is too much fabric in the crown and it makes my head look funny. Too tired to take it out and take it in tonight...I'll do it tomorrow...
And if I never have to inventory/discard/shift entire stock of McCalls patterns to make room for the new ones, it won't be too soon. I spent my whole six hours at work today counting patterns, and moving them ALL from one drawer to another. I didn't know McCalls had so many patterns....hmmm, dots are fun........anyway, the tent sale starts next week, and I'll be working a lot of extra hours. Fun times, cutting fabric outside in the heat and humidity...at least we'll have a rotating fan. They promised us that and plenty of water. But I guess the sale's worth it....tables and tables of fabric all at $1 and $2 a yard. It won't leave me much sewing time though...at least the hat and coif will be stamped DONE tomorrow, and I'll have all the non-working hours of next week to make a chemise. Shouldn't be a problem unless my recent spurt of productivity wears off. I don't think it will though...I feel like I'm at school (only not) and nothing stops me from finishing a project in time...it might not be perfect, but it will be done.
My thumb hurts. I don't think it liked being pinched and stabbed. (drawers and needles.......)
