I sewed! I did, I did!
Jan. 25th, 2006 09:01 pmWhere as of five hours ago there were only lengths of fabric crumpled on the floor, there is now a nearly completed 1920 dress. It was one of my incredibly rare get-home-before-10pm-and-actually-have-an-evening days, and I felt a deep desire to have my dress Now. And now all I have left is the zipper (invisible up the back...it's for a ball here at GV so I don't really care about 100% periodness), sew on the shoulder straps, and sew on my four beady dangly things on the skirt corners. It's really not much at all, and if I really wanted to I could finish tonight, but I am le tired. And besides, I have about three weeks until the ball anyway so it's not as though I'm in any rush *yet*. I don't think I have EVER made something so quickly from start to finish before. I drafted my pattern and sewed it all together in under five hours! I think I love the awesome simplicity that is 1920's patterning.
