so good being home!
Dec. 26th, 2005 01:23 pmWe just got home from my grandparent's place where we go every Christmas. It's wonderful being home. Family is all well and good, but a small house with nothing but an obnoxious seven-year-old and a television for entertainment can get wearying after a couple hours. We were there two whole days. Gah. And I really do have a small family here. Two aunts, one uncle, and three cousins. From a mercenary standpoint things didn't go so well...but I'll live. After all, I did end up getting Dress A Galaxy, and it makes me really want to re-do my Padmé packing dress fronticepiece and make proper metal armbands. I'll definately have to do that sometime.
And my Violet dress is begun at long last! I'm actually keeping a dress diary for this one (something I haven't done before) as I forsee this could turn into a Great Saga. An epic that will span months...
I just realised something. I started this LJ as a way to quickly write updates and diaries of my costuming endeavours. And it's totally turned into a mostly personal journal with costume bits thrown in here and there. Ah well, I blame school. Speaking of which, I'm actually almost missing GV and my people there. If there wasn't so much I want to do yet during break I'd really want the next semester to start now. But back to the Violet dress. Right now the diary is all in Word, and I don't feel like putting it on my website right this moment. I'd much rather go paint grey stripes on my purple skirt. OH! I have a question for padawansguide. Approx how much of the grey organza will I need? I had to wait for some Christmas money before I could afford more fabric, but now that I can get it, I don't know how much to buy.
And one last word...I really want to thank those of you who were so encouraging after my last post. It gave me the gumption to start something again, and with a new project underway things are grand once more.
