Odds and Ends
May. 7th, 2005 11:28 pmEven though I didn't produce an enourmous amount today (and I now have less than two weeks to finish all the SW costumes!) it has been a hugely satisfying day.
To start it off, I helped with the highschool portfolio review for incoming freshman at Grand Valley, and even though I haven't been gone long at all it was still wonderful to be at Calder again and see some of my people. And of course it's always fun being the wise and powerful upperclassman wisking importantly around while the newbies quiver and quake in various corners as they wait. 'Twas grand.
I went shopped thereafter, and picked up some black (surprisingly opaque) chiffon (it was on sale) for the applique stripes and whorls of my Violet B. dress I'm planning, and I got silver sculpey clay for the headpieces for my Padmé Packing and various other oddments and notions that I need.
Once home, I worked some more on Rebekah's jumpsuit, and have the top and sleeves done thus far. And I take this time to say that whoever was fool enough to think that a pocket with a window is a good idea can go hang for all I care!!! It took me forever to figure out what propably isn't dreadfully hard...and after I conquered that windowed pocket I felt all tuckered out, and my machine's foot pedel was hot so I figured it was time to stop. Which I did.
