(no subject)

Well, I have another scan of my progress on the fronticepiece...the gold cording/embroidery is almost done, so that's good. But. I'm rather depressed on two points. Firstly, my overlay piece is too long, the middle extends too far and doesn't leave quite enough room for the gold loops underneath and I only noticed last night. However, it's not too terrible, I can live with it as long it gives an accurate impression of Padmé. Secondly (and far worse) I bought 100 yards of black satin ribbon off ebay for my Violet B. dress. It arrived today, and it's like craft ribbon! The roll (and the seller) says satin, but it's crispy and and waterproof and stiff and horrible!!!!!! I did get it for just $7, but when my funds are at the state where finding a quarter on the floor is exciting............suffice it to say I'm feeling a wee bit blue. *sigh*
