(no subject)

I think I figured out how to do all those designs around the bottom of the V.B. dress!!! It looks like on the original they're appliqued on, but my sewing machine can't do applique, and it would take me YEARS to sew them all on by hand, so, I was thinking...what fabric wouldn't show a zigzag stitch? Velvet! I can cut out the designs, use a bit a fray check all around the edges, and zigzag them on...the stitches should get lost in the pile! I think that was my biggest concern about making the dress, and now that my mind is at ease, I feel so much better about going right ahead with it! Once I get the money for fabric that is.
