I just got back from Mackinac, where I did manage to get my book at midnight, whereafter I promply started reading and finished somewhere around 4:30-5am. Then I read it through again on Sat.

Wow.

Just......wow. It's easily the best HP book thus far, and I totally loved the more mature, in control Harry. I was really happy that I was right and that Harry was Quidditch captain...and his bellowing at Mclaggen with Luna commentating was priceless. And that bit in the hospital wing when Madame Pomfrey tells him he has to stay there overnight and not overexert himself, and Harry starts to get up saying he wants to find Mclaggen and kill him, and Poppy says 'that would come under the heading of overexertion'. I was pleasantly surprised that such an overall dark and tragic book would have such immensely amusing moments. Especially when Dumbledore came to the Dursley's home...brilliance. And I LOVED how Jo wrote the Harry/Ginny kiss after Gryffindor won the cup, it made me feel very warm and content. Not to mention Lupin and Tonks getting together was highly satisfying...it's about time poor Lupin had something to be happy about!

Even though everything's coming to a head, I wasn't upset or agitated when I came to the end. Even though it'll be very hard waiting another two or so years for the final book, at least we roughly know what Harry will be up to, and that takes makes the wait much easier.
