(no subject)

It's been four months since I touched it last, but yesterday I really did get the Violet dress out again...though it's not so much a dress yet as a skirt...and I didn't so much sew as iron. I ironed many many many pleats, I ironed all evening for nearly five hours and I'm only just half done with the pleats. At least it's not difficult work, and seeing the pleated ruffle grow is enormously satisfying. I want this dress to be the culmination of everything I have learned and done with sewing thus far! *end dramatic music*

Added note: according to my impeccable math *snort* and my more trustworthy eyeing-of-things it will take twelve sections of pleats to go around the skirt...and I've done five so far.
